Hi!
FTM here and already thinking about my clothes after pregnancy. Apologies in advance if this a hard question to answer but, insight is appreciated! All my pre-pregnancy clothes are XS/S which I imagine I won’t be reaching for anytime soon. Majority of this pregnancy I’ve been wearing maternity clothes with the occasional purchase of regular tops in a size L.
I want to make sure I have stuff to wear mostly just around the house. What can I expect after birth with clothes? I know it takes a while for the bump to go down after giving birth. Will I continue to wear maternity pants for a while? It safe to purchase size M clothes or should I worry about this later??

I’m a FTM so I don’t have personal experience, but from friends I was told to expect to fit into clothes that fit you when you were around 5 months pregnant. I’m sure it differs for everyone though!

Keep things loose and cozy in the first few weeks. I was at my prepregnancy weight 2 weeks after birth and fit into my old clothes again, at least the stretchier ones.

I still wore maternity clothes for a good month after! My regular clothes were uncomfortable and oddly tight in some places. I was able to get back into my regular sized shirts/tops fully after 9 months. Nursing kept my boobs huge, so a lot of my blouses and tops for work I had to size up in. The area around my C-section incision stayed really swollen/puffy and my regular jeans just didn't fit. I did have to size up in those until it finally all went down, which did take a good year. I'd say I wouldn't stock up on anything because your body could be totally fine and shrink back down quick or it may take awhile.

I was also xs before pregnancy. This is my third baby. I wore my maternity shorts and bigger shirts when going out. Maternity leggings and sweaters also work for those in cold climates.
At home I lived in robes and nursing bras (specifically the nursing bras from target).
I was back in my xs clothes shortly after my first and second baby. Will see how it goes after the third. Only thing is if you’re nursing you maybe will have larger breasts for a while until you’re done feeding.
